Formosa Club Co-Chair Cătălin-Daniel Fenechiu led a delegation of seven Romanian parliamentary leaders to visit Taiwan on Monday. The Foreign Ministry expressed a sincere welcome to the delegation, stating that Taiwan and Romania share values of freedom, democracy, and a strong determination to resist the expansion of authoritarianism.
According to a press release by the Foreign Ministry, Fenechiu is a longstanding supporter of Taiwan, serving as co-chair of the Formosa Club. He has also collaborated with the Taiwanese government to support humanitarian actions in Ukraine since the Russian-Ukrainian War began. The Foreign Ministry pointed out that there is considerable potential for cooperation in trade and technology between Taiwan and Romania as well.
The delegation will meet with government officials in the Legislature, the Foreign Ministry, and the Justice Ministry. Additionally, they will also visit the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Hsinchu Science Park, and some of Taiwan’s tech companies to enhance bilateral exchanges and strengthen industrial cooperation.
