This statement came as a result of the remark made by Dominican Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit at the 2024 Boao Forum for Asia, that the Dominican Republic abides firmly by the one-China principle.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jeff Liu (劉永健) reiterated Taiwan’s sovereign status on Friday, stating that Taiwan is not subordinate to the People's Republic of China. The PRC has never ruled Taiwan, which is a well-known fact and objective reality.
