The Embassy of Belize in Taiwan kicked off its food truck tour of Northern Taiwan on Tuesday at the Taipei Children's Amusement Park. The 2024 Puncar Tour of Northern Taiwan, jointly organized with the Central American Trade Office, will showcase Belizean cuisine at 18 locations across northern Taiwan over the coming weeks.
In her speech, Belizean Ambassador Dr. Candice Pitts highlighted the power of culinary diplomacy in strengthening ties with Taiwan's 23 million people.
Taiwanese officials including Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Remus Li-Kuo Chen (陳立國) and diplomats from other Central American countries also attended the event.
The truck offers Taiwanese fried noodles with Belize's famous Marie Sharp's hot sauce, pancakes with Belizean cocoa sauce, and Belize cocoa berry tea. Visitors who engage with the Belizean Embassy's social media can get free tastings and souvenirs. Details of the truck's destinations in Northern Taiwan are available on the Central American Trade Office's Facebook page.
