The partnership between Taiwan and the United States is closer than ever, says Laura Rosenberger, Chair of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) during a meeting with Legislator Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) on Wednesday.
Rosenberger says that U.S. policy towards Taiwan is consistent citing the Taiwan Relations Act, the Three Communiqués and the Six Assurances. She emphasized the importance of the Legislature’s continued support for the Taiwan-U.S. partnership and areas including economy, trade and security.
Han says that the Legislature is enthusiastic about engaging in diplomatic work and emotional connections with the U.S. He also thanked U.S. President Biden for emphasizing the importance of peace in the Taiwan Strait in his State of the Union address, which he says is very important for stabilizing the hearts of the Taiwanese people.
