Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry condemns Iran’s recent drone and missile attack on Israel, calling on all involved parties to avoid further escalation by resolving differences through dialogue. In an interview on Monday, Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) expressed his condemnation of Iran's serious destruction of regional and global peace and stability.

Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles early Sunday morning, targeting Israeli cities such as Jerusalem in an apparent vengeance move for the April 1 airstrike in Syria, which Iran accused Israel of being responsible for. Israel’s defense system and strategic allies intercepted the majority of the attack.

The UN Security Council will meet at Israel's request at roughly 8 p.m. GMT on Monday, and U.S. President Joe Biden has said the G7 group of wealthy nations will also coordinate a "united diplomatic response" to Iran's attack.

Wu stated that the expatriates in both Iran and Israel are safe at present and that the government will closely observe the situation and respond accordingly to any changes.
