Taipei City held the 2024 Eid-Al-Fitr in Taipei event at Daan Forest Park on Sunday. Eid-Al-Fitr is an important festival for Muslims which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The event featured stage performances, halal markets, and activities to promote Muslim multiculturalism.

In its opening ceremony, Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) pointed out that Taipei has worked to become a certified Muslim-friendly environment for some time. Currently more than 70 hotels and attractions are certified Muslim-friendly. Further, Taipei was selected as the Most-Promising Muslim-Friendly City Destination by the respected Muslim tourism promotion company CresentRating last year. Chiang said Taipei is committed to becoming a friendly, diverse, and inclusive city. He added that Taipei will continue working hard to become more convenient for all Muslims.

The event also hosted representatives of Muslim-majority countries in Taiwan, and distinguished guests of the Chinese Muslim Association and the Taipei Grand Mosque Foundation.
