President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) welcomed on Wednesday a bipartisan delegation of U.S. Congressional members at the Presidential Office. Led by U.S. House of Representatives Republican Conference Secretary Lisa McClain, the delegation included Democratic Congressman Dan Kildee and Republican Congressman Mark Alford.

Welcoming the delegation, the president highlighted McClain, Kildee, and Alford's roles as members of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus. Tsai thanked them for their longstanding attention to Taiwan-related issues and their support for Taiwan's international participation.

Tsai noted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act and thanked the U.S. government and Congress for their continued support for Taiwan, particularly in arms sales and funding for Taiwan-related initiatives. She also expressed appreciation for the passage of the Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act by the U.S. House of Representatives.

In response, McClain highlighted Taiwan's progress under President Tsai's leadership and emphasized the importance of robust Taiwan-U.S. relations. Alford reiterated the commitment of the U.S. to support Taiwan and underscored the urgency of providing Taiwan with necessary defense capabilities and addressing delays in arms sales deliveries. Kildee affirmed the aid provided by the Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act to Taiwan and expressed determination to deepen U.S.-Taiwan trade relations and resolve the issue of double taxation before the end of his term.
