President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) attended the opening ceremony of the CYBERSEC 2024 in Taipei’s Nangang Exhibition Center on Tuesday.

In her remarks, Tsai first acknowledged the organizers for their ten-year effort to create and promote a platform for technical exchange and business connections, which has helped enhance Taiwan’s cybersecurity capabilities.

Tsai continued to say the government has established the Digital Ministry to lead Taiwan’s digital transformation, along with various policies to support the cybersecurity industry. She stated that these efforts enable Taiwan to maintain its crucial role in the global supply chain amidst the ongoing digital transformation worldwide.

Tsai underscored that the government treats cybersecurity as an integral part of national security and has established specialized government agencies to construct its defense mechanisms. She said the government will consistently cultivate talents and inject resources into scientific innovation to bolster the nation's digital resilience.

In conclusion, Tsai emphasized Taiwan's active involvement in global affairs in recent years, which strengthened its collaboration with more like-minded nations. She expressed her hope that this event will promote further cooperation between the government and other sectors, with the aim of jointly constructing a safer digital environment in the future.

According to the event’s official website, CYBERSEC is the largest cyber security expo in Asia, which features more than 300 talks by cybersecurity experts and showcases over 500 brands this year.
