A man is dead after a reported explosion at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co’s (TSMC) plant in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday afternoon, local time. According to local reports, the man was 41 year-old Cesar Anguiano-Guitron, a waste disposal truck driver.

The incident is still under investigation by local authorities. However, reports indicate that the accident occurred when Anguiano-Guitron was transporting pressurized material away from a TSMC construction site.

After becoming aware of a possible problem, the tank experienced an “uncontrolled pressure release”, throwing Anguiano-Guitron away from the vehicle. He was seriously injured in the incident, and taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Responding to the incident Thursday morning, TSMC said that no other workers reported related injuries. TSMC added there was no damage to the plant, and operations and construction would continue as normal.
