The Global Federation of Chinese Business Women (GFCBW) held its 30th-anniversary event on Wednesday. During the ceremony, Chairwoman Chuang Chu-wei (莊住維) announced a donation of NT$10 million (US$309 thousand) to the Hualien County Government for disaster relief following the earthquake in early April.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Remus Li-Kuo Chen (陳立國) attended the event and, in his speech, commended the association for its charitable contributions and its role in promoting Taiwan's positive image globally. Chen says GFCBW designated the founding anniversary as a Global Kindness Day last year and collaborated with global branches to donate thousands of electric nursing beds to various parts of the country.

Chen pointed out that GFCBW has 88 branches in 30 countries and five continents. He says the association plays a crucial role in promoting women’s economic empowerment, advocating for disadvantaged groups, contributing to the international community, and working towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

Chen also praised the association for organizing solidarity activities with 25 branches in North America. These urged local governments to support Taiwan's participation in the WHO and WHA. The aim was to spread awareness globally to spread the message: “Taiwan can help, Taiwan is helping, and Taiwan can lead.”
