The Taipei City Council passed a motion on Wednesday regarding the usage of the Taipei Dome. The City Council suggested the Taipei City Government confirm with the Interior Ministry on related concerns of hosting concerts in the Taipei Dome.

Since late 2023, water leaks have occurred at several sporting events in the Taipei Dome, including during the Asian Baseball Championship last December. Taipei Department of Sports Commissioner Wang Hung-shiang (王泓翔) said he would consult with the Interior Ministry to see whether Paragraph 127 of the Taipei City Architectural Technical Regulations, which regulates spectator seating and safety, still applies to non-sporting events. Wang said he would also ask Farglory Group, builder and operator of the Taipei Dome, to initiate the process for fire safety examination.

The Interior Ministry expressed that its standpoint has not changed since its
interpretation of the law in 2017 and that the Taipei City Government could decide in accordance with its rights and responsibilities.
