Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) announced salary increases for military personnel, civil servants, and educators during a Cabinet meeting on Thursday according to Cabinet spokesperson Chen Shih-kai (陳世凱) who spoke at a press conference following the meeting.

Cho states that Taiwan’s economy has seen steady growth over the past few years, with this year’s growth expected to reach 3.4%. He expresses his hope that companies would share their economic success by raising employee salaries and that the government would set an example by increasing wages for military personnel, civil servants, and educators.

Chen added that Cho has instructed the Cabinet’s Personnel Administration Directorate-General to convene relevant ministries and immediately initiate the process for adjusting the salaries of military personnel, civil servants, and educators starting next year.
