The Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters of the Transport Ministry’s Tourism Administration held an opening ceremony for the Penghu-Airport Express Route on Thursday. A Taiwan Tourist Shuttle connecting the area between Penghu Airport and the Bus Main Station officially began operation at 2 p.m.
In addition to connecting tourists to transfer flights through Penghu Airport and to Penghu’s bus routes through the Bus Main Station, the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle also stops at Magong Harbor, South Sea Visitor Center, and South Sea Transportation & Tourist Waiting Room. Travelers can take transfer boats from these stops to other islands in the Penghu archipelago, as well as to Kaohsiung and Budai Township in Chiayi.
The Penghu National Scenic Administration said that the bus runs every 40 minutes from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day with a fare of NT$30 per trip. It also provides luggage pick-up and drop-off services, in addition to exclusive discounts through e-payment at designated shops with bus receipts. From now until August 31, the bus fare is half-price with an e-ticket.
