Radio Taiwan International’s trip to Japan highlights its commitment to fostering exchanges and strengthening international ties while promoting the voice of Taiwan. The delegation is led by Rti’s President Chang Jui-Chang (張瑞昌) and includes board member Liu Hsia-ju (劉夏如) and International Language Division Manager Carlson Huang (黃佳山).

At one of the meetings, President Chang said that as a national broadcaster, Rti is responsible for connecting with other international broadcasters. He added that exchanges should be based on equality and mutual benefit and not be distinguished by radio station size. Manager Huang supplemented this, saying Rti’s main goals include promoting Taiwan internationally and introducing global cultures to the Taiwanese public.

The travel itinerary includes an exclusive interview with Deputy Representative Tsai Ming-yaw (蔡明耀) of Taiwan’s representative office in Japan on Taiwan-Japan relations. Meetings with major Japanese public and private media entities such as NHK, Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Inc., and Japan's only nationwide shortwave radio station, Radio Nikkei, have also been arranged. Visits to listeners’ clubs in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka have been scheduled to further engage with Rti’s Japanese listeners.

The delegation will next travel to Osaka and Fukuoka to continue working on Taiwan-Japan collaborations.
