Despite heavy rain leading up to the event, the mass barbecue held in Kaohsiung's Chengyi Village on Saturday to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival went off without a hitch.
For the ninth year, Chengyi Village has successfully hosted their “Thousand Person Barbecue.” Although the hours before the event saw quite a bit of rainfall, this did nothing to dampen people’s spirits, and luckily, the rain stopped shortly after the event began.
Crowds of people gathered to enjoy an assortment of grilled meat, including seafood, pork slices, chicken wings, and even diced beef. One attendee commented that the NT$200 (around US$6) entry fee for the event was very reasonable considering inflation and the quality of ingredients.
In addition to dinner, there was also a drawing for raffle prizes, making the barbecue an altogether enjoyable and memorable experience.
