Taro lovers can enjoy an array of delicious taro treats at the 2024 Lieyu Taro Festival with a special invitation from the mayor to visit Kinmen.

Lieyu Township Mayor Hung Juo-shan (洪若珊) and Legislator Chen, Yu-Jen (陳玉珍) officially launched the 2024 Lieyu Taro Festival at Taipei Main Station on Monday.
At the press conference, the mayor said that they are working to drive the overall development of the region by promoting local products with tourism. She invited everyone to visit Lieyu Township and try their taro delicacies. She is confident that their taro is the best-tasting taro people will ever find.
The fame of Lieyu’s taro is attributed to the township’s red clay soil which is rich in minerals. This produces fragrant taro that melts in your mouth once cooked.
Legislator Chen also promoted Lieyu’s taro saying that it is truly one of the best local products in Kinmen. She urged people to try any of their taro products at least once, saying people will definitely not regret it and welcomes everyone to visit to taste all of their delicious taro products.
The festival runs for two and a half months and showcases a variety of taro food items.
