The Taipei Dome’s unsolved leakage problem raises concerns ahead of plans to hold this year's National Day celebration at the stadium on October 5. In an interview on Monday, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) said that Farglory Group has been asked to complete repairs and improvements to the event areas before October 4.

Recent tropical depressions and low-pressure belts have drenched Taiwan in heavy rainfall, testing the integrity of waterproofing across the country. During the deluge on Sunday, the Taipei Dome hosted CTBC Brothers star player Chou Szu-chi’s (周思齊) retirement game, where leaks over fan seating generated worry and complaints.

Mayor Chiang assured the public that the city government has asked the Taipei Civil Engineers Association to provide assistance and will use various methods to correct the leakage.
