The Busan International Travel Fair, southern Korea's largest tourism event, recently concluded with Taiwan's pavilion winning the Best Booth Design award.
Participating from September 27 to 29 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO), Taiwan's Tourism Administration promoted its new tourism brand "Waves of Wonder". The booth showcased Taiwan’s charm, highlighting the theme "Close to Mountains, Close to the Sea, Joyful Island Tour." The initiative was aimed at attracting travelers from the southern region of South Korea and gaining valuable insights into the local market.
The Taiwan pavilion offered consultations on themed travel and showcased videos featuring seasonal attractions. They promoted several packages, including the Taiwan Pass, a buy-one-get-one-free offer for high-speed rail tickets, and the "Taiwan the Lucky Land" lottery. The pavilion also featured interactive activities such as creating travel diaries and guessing games about Taiwan's attractions. Taiwan’s tourism mascot, Oh Bear, drew large crowds, enhancing awareness and interest in Taiwan’s tourism offerings.
The number of flights from Busan to Taiwan is on the rise, and the Tourism Administration hopes interest in Taiwan will be boosted by the recent travel exhibit, fostering further growth in tourism from Korea to Taiwan.
