The Defense Ministry reported on Monday that seven Chinese military aircraft were detected to have crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).
Monitoring Chinese military activity from 6 a.m. on Sunday to 6 a.m. today, it said that a total of 14 Chinese military aircraft were detected. Additionally, 12 Chinese military vessels were also observed operating around the Taiwan Strait.
The ministry also announced that it is aware that China has scheduled a rocket launch on October 23 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. Its flight path will be towards the western Pacific and pass through Taiwan's ADIZ.
The ministry emphasized that it is closely monitoring the situation and stated that air and naval patrols were deployed with land-based missile systems to respond to the activities.
