Fur babies got the rare o-paw-tunity to recreate the 2024 Paris Olympics athlete’s river entrance in Kaohsiung City last Saturday.

Fur babies recreated the torch relay and river entrance of the 2024 Paris Olympics in Kaohsiung City last Saturday with Roger, a search-and-rescue dog from the Kaohsiung Fire Department, taking the spotlight.
Roger, a Labrador Retriever with an International Search and Rescue Dog Organization's (IRO) certification, contributed greatly to rescue operations after the Hualien earthquake in April of this year.
Organized by the Kaohsiung City Animal Protection Office, the event kicked off the 2024 furry friends games that will be held in November. The ferry ride allowed pets to board the vessel directly and roam freely onboard. Normally pets need to be placed in pet carriers before taking any public transportation.
Pet parents made the most of the opportunity to not only dress up their pets and take non-stop pictures but also interact with other pet parents. All in all, the event was a pawsome experience for pets, letting them cruise in style and create some un-fur-getable memories!
