The National Radio Museum in Minxiong, Chiayi operated by Radio Taiwan International (Rti) ran a series of events on Saturday to celebrate Taiwan Culture Day.
The event featured a 5G-guided tour, a walking tour of the Minxiong area, and an outdoor cinema screening of the local documentary ‘A Holy Family’ offering a fresh perspective on the cultural and human landscape of Minxiong. Visitors also engaged with AR technology to explore radio transmitter structures.
Kuo Jung-che (郭榮哲), head of Rti's cultural resources department, expressed his gratitude for the event's success. He says the spirit of Taiwan Culture Day is to foster dialogue between cultural institutions and the public through exhibitions, educational outreach, and promotional activities. He added that they were thrilled to have hosted the event and looked forward to welcoming more visitors to the National Radio Museum to experience Taiwan’s rich broadcasting history.
Taiwan Culture Day, established on October 17, 2001, commemorates the founding of the Taiwan Cultural Association in 1921 by prominent intellectuals like Lin Hsien-tang (林獻堂) and Chiang Wei-shui (蔣渭水). The association sparked a cultural awakening in Taiwan, influencing areas such as film, literature, and music. Taiwan Culture Day is a tribute to that legacy, promoting local cultural awareness and identity.
