The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) announced today that Managing Director of AIT’s Washington Office Ingrid Larson arrived in Taiwan on Monday and will stay through Friday. Her visit underscores the U.S. commitment to Taiwan and the continued growth of the Taiwan-U.S. partnership.

In a press release, AIT stated that Larson is meeting with various officials to discuss regional security, trade and investment, educational and cultural connections, and other mutually beneficial interests between the two countries.

Larson was appointed to her current role at AIT’s Washington Office in May 2020 and is responsible for hosting important visitors from Taiwan, finalizing programs and transactions between Taiwan and the U.S. government, and overseeing reporting requirements for AIT. She came to this position following more than two decades working for the U.S. State Department, including overseas posts in Korea, Mexico, China, and other countries.
