Taiwan will continue constructive communication and deepen Taiwan-US economic relations following the U.S. presidential elections, where Republican candidate Donald Trump declared victory.
Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) congratulated Donald Trump on his victory through the social media platform X. Lai says he is confident in the Taiwan-US partnership, emphasizing that its foundation of shared values and interests will be crucial for regional stability and will promote greater prosperity for both nations.
Taiwan’s Office of Trade Negotiations stated that Taiwan and the United States have established various long-term consultation and dialogue channels. These include negotiations under the Trade Initiative, the Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue (EPPD), and the Technology Trade and Investment Collaboration (TTIC). Taiwan hopes to continue these efforts to maintain constructive communication and strengthen economic relations between both sides.
