The “Luxi Feast” hosted by Changhua’s city government sells out quickly every year as soon as registration opens. This year, the dinner will be served on November 23 and 24, with must-eat red meat soup, fried golden and crispy tofu skin, and 17 other delicious dishes on the menu.
However, the banquet’s original price of NT$4,000 (almost US$125) per table has risen to NT$4,500 (about US$140) due to rising costs.
Lukang Mayor Hsu Chih-hung (許志宏) says that they’ve adjusted the price to subsidize many ingredients that have increased in cost. Although the price has increased slightly, he emphasized that people will think spending a little extra money to taste all these Lukang delicacies is worth it.
