This Monday, Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) met with the winners of the 27th Great Love Award, which is issued by the Health Ministry to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication in caring for their disabled children.
The winners this year included Shen Pao-ying (沈寶英), mother to Lin I-shan (林儀珊), a dancer with a hearing impairment whose talent has been recognized internationally. Yu Miao-hsiang (游妙香), mother to table tennis player Lin Wei-chang (林洧漳), also received the award. Lin, who is intellectually disabled, previously placed second in men’s doubles at the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games.
Cho expressed how moved he was by the winners’ devotion to their children’s success. He also said that the Health Ministry is responsible for creating policies that ensure all of Taiwan’s citizens receive the care and support they need. Cho encouraged the recipients to provide feedback to the government in this regard, and thanked them for visiting the Cabinet.
