Taiwanese-style pork bento makes a home run with Osaka’s youth baseball players who gave the dish rave reviews.

Taiwan’s Agriculture Minister Junne-jih Chen (陳駿季) dropped by Osaka to educate local youth baseball players about some of Taiwan’s produce. The minister, whose main mission in Japan was to promote Taiwanese agricultural products, even treated the young players to a Taiwanese-style pork chop bento.
During his visit, Minister Chen introduced red dragon fruit, Tiger grouper, and pork found in Taiwanese-style bentos. He emphasized their diversity and appeal, together with their high quality.
The hands-on approach—serving pork chop bento meals —was successful in winning over the kids' taste buds. Their delighted expressions, according to the ministry, are a testament to the quality and global competitiveness of Taiwanese agricultural exports. According to the Agriculture Ministry, Japan was Taiwan's top fresh fruit export market last year, with 34,000 metric tons sold.
