Taiwan Lottery Co. has launched its Lunar New Year limited edition NT$2,000 (approximately US$60) scratch tickets. 2025’s Year of the Snake tickets will entice gamblers with an unprecedented 10 first prizes of NT$20 million (nearly US$606,500) and 1,200 second prizes of NT$1 million (about US$30,300).
Popular singer and actor Crowd Lu (盧廣仲) revealed the new year’s lottery products and bonus content at a launch event on Friday. He shared his personal experience of buying scratch tickets for his celebrations at home in Southern Taiwan, describing how tickets of various values were spun on a turntable at dinner to be won by the person they stopped on.
Taiwan Lottery General Manager Hsieh Chih-hung (謝志宏) pointed out that buying lottery tickets during the Lunar New Year has become a fun ritual for many people as they’ve just received red envelopes and year-end bonuses. He said that the NT$2,000 tickets sold out as quickly as by the fifth day of the lunar celebrations in previous years, so issuance has been increased to 23 billion, from 2024’s 20 billion.
The limited edition NT$2,000 scratch tickets are available now in any Taiwan Lottery shop.
