During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, Trump emphasized the strategic importance of both Greenland and the Panama Canal to U.S. national security. When asked about the possibility of using military force, Trump notably refused to rule it out.
Greenland, the world's largest island, is a self-governing territory of Denmark, a founding NATO member and longtime U.S. ally. The island's strategic location near the Arctic Circle, abundant mineral resources, and existing U.S. military base make it particularly valuable. The Greenlandic government has characterized Donald Jr.'s visit as a "private trip," emphasizing that neither party requested official meetings.
