Nvidia has revealed plans to build a sovereign AI park in Thailand using Taiwanese semiconductor chips and AI servers. Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) made the announcement on Thursday at the Taiwan-Thailand Economic and Trade Exchange Forum hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Thailand Trade and Economic Office.

Lin said that the technology industries of Taiwan and Thailand are closely connected. He mentioned that Taiwan's printed circuit board industry has recently increased its investment in Thailand and some of Taiwan's smart city solutions have also been successfully exported to Thailand, helping improve the efficiency of public services and promote digital and net-zero dual-axis transformation.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that Taiwan and Thailand updated their investment promotion and protection arrangement last year and have also granted each other’s citizens visa-free access. He emphasized that both sides should strengthen capital transfer freedom, investment dispute settlement mechanisms, environment and labor standards protection measures, as well as cooperation in the digital economy, smart application services, and information security industries. Lin Chia-lung said that he looks forward to the two countries establishing a comprehensive economic and trade cooperation framework alongside a prosperous future together.
