Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) will travel to Palau on Wednesday to attend their presidential inauguration on Thursday. He will also lead a delegation of business leaders to explore investment opportunities in the country.
In early November last year, Surangel Whipps Jr. was re-elected as president of Palau for another term, with Raynold Oilouch elected vice president by a significant margin.
On behalf of President Lai, the delegation will extend heartfelt congratulations to Palau and discuss ways to deepen cooperation between the two nations.
The Foreign Ministry’s East Asian and Pacific Affairs Department Director General Peter Lan (藍夏禮) noted that the visit aligns Taiwan’s industrial strengths with its comprehensive diplomacy strategy to promote the “Diplomatic Allies Prosperity” project in Palau. He emphasized that this collaboration will help bolster Palau’s economic resilience while advancing democracy, peace, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
