The “Taiwan Telemedicine Office” opened in Hong Ngoc - Phuc Truong Minh General Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam on Friday. Operated by Taipei Veterans General Hospital (VGHTPE), the department is the first of its kind run by a Taiwanese hospital overseas. The inauguration ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Ambassador Richard Shih, Vietnam Government Committee for Taiwan Affairs Secretary-General Nguyen Trac Ba, representatives of both hospitals, and numerous delegates and business people.

The telemedicine office marks a key step in promoting Taiwan's advanced healthcare industry and medical technologies to international markets while simultaneously strengthening partnerships with Vietnamese medical professionals. Its establishment aims to foster medical collaboration, strengthen business ties in the healthcare sector, enhance healthcare accessibility, and promote medical education.

Hong Ngoc Hospital is one of the largest private hospitals in Northern Vietnam and is also a key partner of VGHTPE. The two hospitals signed a Memorandum of Understanding in March 2024, one of 30 MOUs between VGHTPE and Vietnam, and have cooperated on several exchanges, hospital expos, lectures, and demonstrations since.
