Taiwanese cyclist Feng Chun-kai (馮俊凱) secured a bronze medal this Tuesday at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships in Thailand. Feng spoke regarding how he earned the first medal for Team Taiwan in this tournament.
Twenty competitors raced to complete the 42.8-kilometer individual time trial, and Kazakhstan’s National Team cyclists claimed both the top spots. Yevgeniy Fedorov won the gold medal with a time of 49 minutes and 12 seconds, and Dmitriy Gruzdev followed, earning the silver medal finishing in 50 minutes and 25 seconds. Feng earned the Taiwanese team’s first 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships medal completing the race in 51 minutes and 14 seconds.
Through his agency, Feng expressed his satisfaction with the results, noting that he was focused on trying to perfect his own performance, undeterred by the presence of such fierce competition.
Feng says weekly training sessions on the time trial bike and experience competing in last year’s Chinese Taipei National Championships helped him prepare for the event. He added that he was able to take a lap around the track prior to the race, and that there were no unexpected disturbances.
Feng thanked the Team Taiwan staff, especially Yang Chen-kun (楊振坤) and Liu Chin-feng (劉金峰) for their support in helping him prepare for the time trial.
