Economics Minister John Deng is set to lead a delegation to visit the United States on Sunday. This will be the first time in eleven years that a Taiwanese economics minister has visited the US.
During the visit, the delegation will focus on bilateral trade issues and seek to participate in negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The TPP is a US-led multilateral trade agreement involving a number of countries bordering the Pacific Rim.
The five-member delegation will also visit the US administration, Congress, think tanks, and trade bodies.
