Experts advise adventurers who have a love for wild hot springs to be prepared, stay cautious, always check weather conditions and bring proper gear.

Many outdoor enthusiasts enjoy soaking in wild hot springs to relax, but safety precautions are essential. Researching weather conditions and terrain in advance is crucial, and having the right gear can be life-saving in critical moments.

Stream Association representative Hsu En-wei (徐恩瑋) warns that wild hot springs are often in remote mountain areas, where recent rainfall can loosen rocks, creating falling hazards. Stream conditions may also be unpredictable, with sudden water level surges. Before heading out, gather terrain data, check recent weather and rainfall levels, and bring essential equipment like helmets, life jackets, and floating ropes.

Experts also caution that being immersed in hot spring water temperatures for too long can cause dizziness. Each session should not exceed 15 minutes, with a total soak time of no more than an hour. People who have consumed alcohol, are on an empty stomach, or have just eaten are also advised to wait before entering the hot springs.

Proper preparation and awareness are crucial for those planning to visit wild hot springs. By taking the necessary precautions, adventurers can safely enjoy the natural beauty and relaxation these hidden gems offer.
