Shilong Temple is known for having the “Instant Noodle God.” Six large barrels filled with instant ramen are lined up inside, each big enough to fit a person in them.
Located in Zhongliao Township, Nantou County in Taiwan, Shilong Temple attracts worshippers who come bearing the instant ramen as an offering. For many believers, their visit won’t be complete without also enjoying a bowl of instant ramen before leaving.
The temple’s land deity—Tudigong (土地公)—is now nicknamed the “Instant Noodle God,” attracting more worshippers to the site due to its novelty. Shilong Temple Chairperson Wu Kuo-tung (吳國棟) says that each barrel holds 50 packs of ramen, and that they have to restock several times a day.
With the temple’s popularity growing online, it’s safe to say the instant ramen feature has been an instant success.
