While most restaurants feature photos of signature dishes on their menu, one place in Kaohsiung took a more “direct approach.”

A restaurant in Kaohsiung’s Xingda Harbor has gone viral for its menu, which features images of the actual animals used in each dish. Raw fish cutlets, a picture of a pig, frogs, and even a shark from the film “Finding Nemo” appear among the available choices. Kung Pao Chicken, always a crowd favorite, has the image of a chicken instead.
The restaurant explains the menu was designed this way to make ordering easier for customers and children who cannot read Chinese characters. They can simply point to what they want to eat.
Though customers have mixed reactions to the display – you could say that the menu takes “farm to table” a little too literally!
