Europe’s largest TV series festival, Series Mania, marked a significant milestone in collaboration within the Taiwanese film industry on Tuesday. The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) hosted an exchange reception and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Federation Studios, one of Europe's largest entertainment groups, highlighting a deepening Taiwan-France media partnership.
Federation Studios founder Pascal Breton expressed his enthusiasm for Taiwan, describing it as the most open country in Asia and a potential hub for Asian market expansion. Having visited Taiwan, Breton praised the country's professional capabilities, technological innovation, and openness to global collaboration.
The event featured key figures from the international industry, including representatives from the French National Centre of Cinema (CNC) and Series Mania festival Director Laurence Herszberg. The reception showcased five promising Taiwanese project proposals, ranging from spy dramas to historical and fantasy narratives, which demonstrated the country's diverse creative potential.
TAICCA Chairman Tsai Chia-chun (蔡嘉駿) emphasized Taiwan’s creative freedom and the government's commitment to developing the creative industry. With increasing international partnerships from France, Japan, Korea, and the U.S., Tsai believes that improving English proficiency and storytelling techniques will enable Taiwanese content to successfully enter the global market.
