Japan’s 2025 Osaka World Expo officially opens this week, and Taiwan is seizing the global stage with a strong cultural and technological presence.
Taiwan is making sure it doesn’t go unnoticed at Japan’s 2025 Osaka World Expo that is expected to draw in a global crowd of more than 28 million visitors.
Before the official opening this week, Taiwanese businesses launched a two-day Taiwan Festival to spotlight the island’s rich culture. International guests who checked in at the event received exclusive Made-in-Taiwan badges, while Taiwanese singer Cliff serenaded passersby, turning heads with music and charm.
The 25 round badge designs are bursting with Taiwanese flair—featuring icons like the national flag, bubble tea, leopard cats and Formosan rock macaques. Created and manufactured entirely by local design teams, the badges were distributed in advance as Taiwan’s cultural calling card to the world.
Step inside the Taiwan pavilion, and you’re immersed in the island’s tech-driven creativity. Through a six-sense interactive experience, visitors can explore Taiwan’s high-tech prowess in vivid, unforgettable ways. The goal: to attract millions of visitors over the six-month run of the Expo and share Taiwan’s beauty and innovation with the world.
