Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) will visit the Kingdom of Eswatini from Tuesday to Saturday, leading a delegation to attend King Mswati III’s 57th birthday celebration. He will also hold talks with Queen Mother Ntombi Tfwala, Prime Minister Russell Dlamini, and Foreign Minister Pholile Shakantu to discuss bilateral relations.

Lin’s schedule includes events focused on Taiwan-Eswatini cooperation, such as a new oil storage project, women’s microfinance initiatives, and 5G smart city development. He will also inspect a Taiwan-funded emergency facility at Mbabane Government Hospital.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding on countering disinformation will be signed as part of joint efforts to enhance cybersecurity capacity. Lin will also be joined by a business delegation to explore commercial, investment, and labor cooperation opportunities.

The Ministry says that Eswatini remains one of Taiwan’s strongest diplomatic allies and has consistently supported Taiwan’s participation in international organizations. It says the visit will further deepen cooperation and strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
