To promote breastfeeding, Taiwan’s Health and Welfare Ministry has encouraged the widespread setup of breastfeeding rooms in public places. These rooms have improved significantly from the dark, cramped rooms of the past.
These days, moms can avail themselves of clean and better facilities with improved privacy. Some department stores offer themed, well-lit spaces with staff assistance, while access in metro stations and rest areas is controlled by keycards and registration. Management says the access control not only enhances privacy for nursing moms but also prevents the space from being used improperly. After each use, staff immediately clean the space to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
These cozy rooms only show that even new moms nurse their needs in style.
