Guatemalan First Lady Lucrecia Peinado is visiting some of Taipei’s most notable sites with Liao Wan-ju (廖婉如), wife of Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍), as part of a cultural tour. Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo is currently in Taiwan for state business.

Lin said that the itinerary includes Dihua Old Street, Lungshan Temple, the National Palace Museum, the Museum of World Religions, the Ju Ming Museum, and the Dharma Drum Mountain World Buddhist Education Park. He noted that showing Taiwan's beauty, culture, hospitality, and warmth will strengthen the bond between allies.

National Palace Museum Director Hsiao Tsung-huang (蕭宗煌) mentioned that 30 years ago, the Guatemalan National History Museum had lent several precious Mayan artifacts to Taiwan for exhibition, and hoped that the two sides could cooperate again. Arévalo responded happily on the spot, saying he looks forward to promoting this meaningful cultural exchange.

Lin emphasized that he hopes every foreign guest can experience Taiwanese people and customs firsthand and bring the beauty of this country back to their homes to advocate for Taiwan.
