Drivers in Taiwan were topping off their gas tanks on Sunday, following an announcement from the state-run oil company – CPC, Taiwan – that prices at the pump would jump at midnight, going into Monday morning.

The price of gas was set to increase by NT$1.9 per liter, while the price of diesel was set to increase by NT$2. That’s roughly US$0.06.

The new prices per liter are: for super diesel, NT$21.9; for 92 octane unleaded, NT$24; for 95 octane unleaded, NT$25.5; and for 98 octane unleaded, NT$27.5 per liter.

Domestic gas and diesel prices had dropped dramatically in Taiwan since June 30, 2014, reaching a six-year low in January. In some cases, the price at the pump fell by as much as US$0.40 per liter.
