Train drivers are protesting throughout the day demanding improvements to railroad crossing safety systems and work conditions.
Some drivers were reducing their speed through railroad crossings on Saturday to express their discontent with the railway administration’s lack of responsiveness to problems they have raised. The first train to cut its speed arrived three minutes late, but some other trains were late for almost an hour.
