A weather system is bringing cooler temperatures to northern Taiwan, with the highs expected to dip by about 5 Celsius (about 10 F).

Weather forecasters say that a weather system swept northward on Saturday from the southern tip of Taiwan, bringing warm air which resulted in overnight rains. Meteorologists say the rain is likely to taper off on Sunday.

Forecasters say that cooler temperatures – between 16 and 20 C – are expected in areas of northern Taiwan. But other areas are likely to see temperatures in the mid-to-upper 20s C.

As for outlying islands, the forecast shows a high chance of fog. Weather officials were urging air travelers to keep an eye on flight information for possible delays.
