Taiwan has been successful in helping the private sector recruit foreign talent from Taiwan’s universities. That’s according to the National Development Council (NDC) on Tuesday.
It’s been six months since the council introduced a program to recruit graduating foreign students and students of Chinese descent. Under the program, their job applications are processed through a quota and evaluation mechanism.
Of the 1,428 students who got hired in Taiwan last year, 477 found a job through the program. 15% of successful applicants come from Malaysia, followed by 8% from Vietnam and Hong Kong respectively.
Most find work in the areas of computer science, machinery, engineering and the electronics industry.
