The government-funded Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) is spinning off its Gemini cloud OS research team into a company.
ITRI made the announcement on Wednesday. The new company, Gemini Open Cloud Computing Inc., will use all-encompassing virtualization and integrated cloud technology. Gemini will provide a “one-stop shop” for resources virtualization in computing, storage, and networking.
Gemini is the first company outside the United States to provide this cloud computing service. The technology will enable enterprises to put their applications on Gemini’s cloud platform while saving over 50% on manpower and operational costs.
