Taiwan’s representative office in India has donated more than 7,000 face masks to India to help stop an outbreak of H1N1 in the country.
Taiwan’s representative to India, James Tien, delivered the masks to a representative of Gujarat State and Delhi’s director in charge of monitoring epidemics during a ceremony on Thursday.
As of Thursday, the outbreak of H1N1 in India has sickened nearly 6,000 in Gujarat and nearly 4,000 in Delhi while claiming a total of 379 lives.
Representative James Tien said he hopes that the masks will help in containing the outbreak as it threatens to spread.
