The stock market took a wait-and-see attitude ahead of the conclusion of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) policy meeting on Wednesday.
Taiwan shares closed up 26.53 points, o r0.27 percent, at 9,539.44 Tuesday. Electronics and machinery shares showed the strongest performance among the eight major stock categories, climbing 0.41 percent.
