Still missing

A Taiwanese fishing vessel operating in the Southern Pacific Ocean is still missing. That’s the word from the Fisheries Agency on Saturday.

The missing ship, the Hsiang Fu Chun, last made contact three weeks ago, when it was about 1,500 nautical miles off the coast of Argentina. The ship was carrying a crew of 49, with 21 from Indonesia, 13 from the Philippines, 11 from China, two from Vietnam, and two, including the captain, from Taiwan.

The Fisheries Agency said Argentina helped search the area where the ship was reported missing. Taiwanese fishing vessels and two merchant ships operating nearby also helped in the search. But so far the missing ship has not been found.
