NGO, museum team up to bring Earth Day to Taipei
For a Greener Taiwan

Taipei-based NGO Taiwan Environmental Information Association (TEIA) is teaming up with the National Taiwan Museum to put on an Earth Day celebration for residents of Taipei.

During a press conference on Thursday, TEIA head Chen Chien-chih said that activities will include film screenings, a concert, a farmers’ market, green design activities, and lectures on ecology. Chen said the goal is to get city-dwellers to think about their impact on the environment and to make green living a part of their daily lives.

"You can make a promise that you’ll go vegan for one day a week, or that you’ll walk home from work today or you’ll bring a handkerchief with you," said Chen.

"Or you might bring environmentally friendly reusable cups and chopsticks with you. Personal actions like these are all kinder to the Earth."

The Earth Day activities are scheduled to take place at the National Taiwan Museum on April 18 and 19.
